Like many people, I transitioned to working from home in 2020. Initially, I worked from my couch, then moved to the kitchen table, and eventually set up a dedicated office space. While I enjoy working remotely, I do miss the social interaction of a traditional office. To stay productive, I optimized my home office with the right tools and gadgets.

I primarily use a laptop and prefer PC over Mac, especially for Excel work. My setup includes two 22-inch monitors connected through a Plugable docking system that allows me to link them seamlessly, alongside USB and SD card capabilities. Having three screens helps me stay on top of emails while focusing on tasks simultaneously. I usually have emails and Slack opened on one screen and my work on the other two.

A key element of my workspace is my ergonomic chair—the Razer Iskur V2—which provides great comfort for long workdays. If you’re working from home, investing in a quality chair is a game-changer for your posture and comfort. Additionally, I recommend using wireless headphones for calls. I use Apple AirPods solely for work, ensuring clients can hear me clearly while minimizing background noise.

I’ve added a few cool accessories to enhance my workflow. For example, I have an XPPen wireless programmable remote. It’s essentially a custom keypad where I can program hotkeys, making tasks like copying and pasting a single button press instead of using multiple keystrokes. Another fun accessory is my Icefloe Aurora Can Cooler—an electric mini-fridge for a single soda can, keeping my diet Coke cold all day long. It’s a small luxury, but it helps me stay focused and refreshed.

One of the biggest advantages of my setup is having a dedicated office space. I’m fortunate to have a room with a door that I can close at the end of the day. This separation between work and home life is essential for maintaining a healthy balance. It’s important to create boundaries so that you can leave work behind when the day is done.

Working from home has its challenges, but optimizing your environment with the right gear and setting clear boundaries can make it a productive and enjoyable experience. Whether it’s ergonomic furniture, multi-monitor setups, or even fun desk gadgets, these improvements can help you stay efficient and comfortable. If you’re working remotely, I highly recommend creating a dedicated workspace that supports both your productivity and well-being.
